A system for internal control of materials and articles intended for use in contact with food
The Trade & Industry group Normpack was founded in 1981 and today it has around 200 members representing all production stages in the value chain: producers of raw materials for materials and products to be used in contact with food, food industry and wholesale/retail.
A combination of product certificates and routine systems for the member companies' own internal control ensures that materials and products comply with current Swedish and EG rules and regulations, as well as legislative instruments such as e.g. Warenwet, FDA and BfR.
Normpack is a neutral and independent body
- safeguarding and strengthening members in their product safety efforts
- supporting authorities with know-how in packaging related issues
- providing consumers with neutral and independent information
- educating and informing trade and industry in legislative matters.
