Standardisation

The standardisation work is carried out within the Nordic Standardization Programme, NSP. NSP is a cooperation between FFIF, PFI and Innventia. NSP has its own website (www.nordstand.com) to which only companies supporting the programme, and persons at the research companies working with NSP, have access.

NSP, Nordic Standardization Programme, is an initiative for the harmonisation and standardization mainly of test methods and terminology for the pulp and paper industry in Finland, Norway and Sweden. The work involves looking after the industry’s interests of the standardization activities within ISO/TC 6, CEN/TC 172 and SCAN-test. The work is led by NSP-Programme Group.

SCAN-test Methods are industry test methods mainly used for process control. Historically, the SCAN-test Methods covered both product and process control, but after a decision from the industry, the product related SCAN-test Methods have been gradually withdrawn in favour of using ISO and EN standards. Below, you can find lists of both valid and withdrawn SCAN-test Methods and a list of ISO and EN standards replacing the withdrawn methods. The available SCAN-test Methods are available on the the NSP website (under SCAN-test Methods).
